Special Christmas Wishes For Our Readers Here at WITS

All of us at Writers In The Storm are wishing our loyal reader friends a wonderful holiday season. Below, we’ve gathered some writerly wishes for you, plus you’re getting a few of our favorite Christmas photographs.

Laura Drake:

My mom - my confidence mentor

My mom – my confidence mentor

I would give our readers confidence.

Writing is brutal, sweat and blood work, and I’ll bet even Nora has bouts of wobbly confidence. Crit feedback, agent/pub rejections, pitch sessions — the opportunity to feel like a hack are legion.

Know that you’re not alone, and push through the self-doubt.

Your published book is waiting for you on the other side of that wall!

Orly Konig Lopez

I would give our readers the gift of a writing family. Writing is such a solitary undertaking and alone, in the depths of our creative caves, it can be scary.

When doubts creep in or writer’s block takes over, it’s nice to know there’s someone in your court who can help talk you off the ledge or back on track. When good news comes, those are the people who will cheer the loudest because they know the love and sweat you’re poured onto every page. Because while writing is indeed solitary, it doesn’t have to be lonely.

Sharla Rae

I would give our readers the very fulfilling desire to share their knowledge of the writing craft and business with others.

When we share what we know, the gift comes back to us three-fold. No matter what stage we’ve reached in our careers, sharing benefits us all.

Fae Rowen

I would give our readers the joy of writing. The joy of creating your own stories and your own characters to share your life’s journey. The joy of putting together just the right pieces of a plot to complete the puzzle that is the evolution of your novel. The joy of capturing those everyday tasks and emotions that can give you the seeds of a remarkable tale. The joy of growing in your craft. The joy of finishing your book. The joy of knowing others enjoy what you do.

I would give each and every one of you the gift of more time. Time is one of those finite resources that slips away far too quickly.

Whether it’s a juggling of your schedule to make more writing time in the new year, better planning and management skills or an increase in speed, I hope you get that a precious hour or more added back into your days.

If you have small children at home like Orly and I, make than an extra two hours. 🙂

Merry Christmas to you and yours from all of us here at WITS. We’ll see you back here on Wednesday, which is Boxing Day for many of our readers.

Writers In The Storm wouldn’t be what it is without every one of you. THANK YOU!!
