Thanks Ella! It's so true....a will can't avoid ALL squabbles but it sure does put an end to most of them, and even the ones it doesn't avoid altogether are usually MUCH less troublesome. It's a very good point.

The availability of good software options has done a lot to make solid estate planning available at reasonable costs. I'm definitely in favor of it, especially where the situation is straightforward. I'm as much in favor of doing these things at a reasonable cost as I am for getting them done in the first place!

So true, Sharla. There's such peace in knowing everything is in order. And the knowledge that the tax man gets nothing - or at least the minimum possible - is a very satisfying perk, for sure.
