I would say to step back and reassess if one receives less than flattering feedback. Read it, sit on it, and then take a good look to see if it's valuable. Sometimes harsh feedback is just mean, but sometimes it's blunt, but helpful. It's too easy to get mad and say something nasty in reply. Being argumentative doesn't serve a purpose here. It's not meant as a personal reflection of who you are, but instead meant to help you put out a better product. We don't always see potential problems in the stories we create, and a nudge in the right direction can be gold. Separating oneself is key in this instance.
