Excellent essay. I really like "Go big or go home," and it's something I need to remember. Also, when I was starting my series, I did write a letter from my lead character to me, and it was a great exercise. To my surprise, it wasn't hard at all. I think he wanted to talk to me, to help me tell his story. I highly recommend it.

I really really love that interview with Depp. You can google the comment he made about getting the idea in the sauna. It's crazy where and how creative ideas hit us. I've made a conscious effort to be more open to it happening - everywhere!
