I'm so sorry your reading was unattended. I wish they'd put a little more thought into what they were asking you and potential readers to do. But yes, a holiday weekend is typically very poorly attended if anyone shows up. (I've done one on Easter weekend - 3 people showed and 2 of there weren't there for me. lol).

So of course, when the public library scheduled another disabled writer and myself to do a presentation for Disability Book Week, not a soul, not even the people who had invited us, showed up!

We had a lovely time chatting - and went home.

I don't know if they really didn't want us, or it was just bad luck, because they scheduled it on a Sunday, July 2, on the Fourth of July weekend (yeah, people were going to come home from a camping trip for us), and it was one of the hottest days of that year, so just getting to the library with a few things was an ordeal! My husband was a doll.

But I'm not afraid of trying again, if the opportunity arises.
