Writers in the Storm would not exist without you! So, no matter what you're celebrating today, we wish you "Merry Everything!"
We won't have an official post today (although Ellen has a great one coming to you on Friday). However, if you feel like sharing your favorite holiday tradition(s) with us in the comments, we'd love to hear them!
With love and gratitude,

Merry Christmas! I love watching Christmas movies, and drinking hot chocolate by the fire with a cat on my lap. Bonus points if the power goes out and I have a good book to read.
I love Christmas movies too! We always start with Elf, because he makes us laugh. But the Charlie Brown Christmas, and all the other animated classics get the favorite status.
p.s. My teen gets to see Die Hard this year, so she can weigh in on whether or not it's an actual Christmas movie. I say no, my husband says yes.
A friend of mine snuck me a family fruitcake recipe she claims is more than two hundred years old and not to be shared. Lucky me!
I really enjoy making this cake for the holidays. It is old-fashioned, dark and very rich and reminds me of the pioneers who settled this valley amidst great hardship. I only make it every so often because it is expensive and time-consuming, but it really makes my very busy holiday season sweeeet!
Thanks for asking!
It sounds lovely! The season hasn't started for me until I start baking. I pull out the recipes, many in my mother's and grandmother's handwriting, and cue the Muppets Christmas album with John Denver. THEN it's Christmas. 🙂
ooooh, Fruitcake. I was trying to explain it to my daughter, but what we got was... not...
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thank you for all of the wonderful posts throughout the year.
Many thanks to you, Cheryl! We are blessed in both our readers AND our contributors.
A big thank you for all your posts. My writing is shinier because of the learning you all share. Happy holidays!
Awwww, thanks Cat! Shiny writing is what we all strive for, right? Merry everything to you...and stay tuned in, because we're about to talk 2026 writing goals.
Happy holidays, Cat!
Happy Holidays!
Thanks, Denise! Back at you!!
